Hyderabad: The Neredmet police on Saturday registered a case against former minister P. Shankar Rao, his brother P. Dayanand and others. A private petition had been filed against them, alleging that they had tried to grab land in the Green Fields Colony at Kanajiguda by presenting forged documents.
Though the court had directed the cops to register the case more than a week ago, officials said they received the court order only on Saturday.
A case has been booked under IPC Sections 120-B, 197 (Knowingly issuing a false certificate), 420 (Cheating), 468 (Forgery for cheating), 471, 506 and 353.

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad police on Saturday registered a criminal case against former Andhra Pradesh minister P Shankar Rao and his brother in Green Fields Colony land-grab case.
Rao and his brother P Dayanand have been charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating and other relevant offences under the Indian Penal Code, said inspector N Chandra Babu.
A local court in Malkajgiri had last week directed the Neredmet police to lodge a case against Rao and his brother following a private complaint which alleges that they tried to grab land in the Green Fields Colony at Kanajiguda by presenting forged documents.
S Chandrashekar, the complainant, alleges that Rao, P Dayanand and others tried to grab 75 acres of land in the Colony through a fraud.
