Land grabbing case filed against Danam

A Washingtonbased Non-Resident Indian (NRI) has lodged a police complaint alleging that he was threatened by former minister Danam Nagender. He also alleged that Danam's associates roughed up security guards and workers at his construction site in Banjara Hills. An FIR was registered against Danam Nagender and others on September 6.The NRI, A Jayender Reddy, in his complaint alleged that Danam Nagender threatened him with dire consequences if he did not vacate the 889 square yard plot on Road No. 7, Banjara Hills, near GVK One mall. He said the site was in the name of his mother-in-law Kondapalli Himayathi, wife of former AP Dairy chairman Chandramouli.
The NRI met Hyderabad police commissioner M Mahendar Reddy, and on the latter's directions, the Banjara Hills police booked a case against Danam Nagender, Mahesh Yadav, Hema Chowdary, Suri and others under section 447,427,506,507 of the IPC. A few persons went to the site and attacked workers after the FIR was registered, he added.
